Starting over in Corpus Christi to kiteboard

Hi, I’m Dawn. I recently moved to Corpus Christi from Colorado — where I spent years skiing in solitude in Telluride, kayaking Class V rivers all over Colorado, rock climbing till my fingers bled from NC, TN, KY, WV, UT, CO, NV and NM, hiking 14erns before it was a crowded "thing." and finally downhill mountain biking all over the west. Eventually - the fires all over drove me from the loam of Whistler's "Ride Don't Slide" to the glacier run off of Squamish to learn to kiteboard. I had no fun kiting in Colorado - the wind blows around in a circle there. We came to Corpus Christi many times a year to kite before I finally told my husband, "I don't care if I go on another trail in Colorado - my heart is not in the crowds and traffic."
So if I am not working, I am at the beach with the dog and trying to surf. Or I am in the Laguna Madre kiteboarding. I don't cook - my husband is proof because he is too skinny to have a good chef at home. I am scared this move was wrong for all of us until I get in the water and realize "Oh yeah, I suck anywhere else."
